The country near 10 miles round London circa 1746. Part of including Wandsworth, Roehampton, Fulham and Battersea. John Roque (1709 - 1762) was a Hugenot refugee and came to England in 1709 with his parents fleeing persecution in France. He was an engraver and mapmaker and published his map of the country near 10 miles round London in 1746. The map we reproduce here is part of that map.
