London Bridge and its Houses
London Bridge lined with houses from end to end is one of the best-known images of early London. Until now little has been known about the houses or the people who lived and worked in them. Using new evidence this book provides, for the first time, a detailed description of both houses and their occupants, and includes specially drawn reconstructions incorporating the new research. The plan of the bridge and houses is also reconstructed, revealing many unexpected features and making it possible to identify the original layout as well as to determine the dates when most of the houses were built.
