Paterson's Twenty Four Miles Round London with Reference to the Seats of Nobility and Gentry. This decorative antique copper engraved map was produced by Capt.Daniel Paterson (1739-1825) for the publisher Carrington Bowles in 1791. Choosing the distance of twenty four miles as the extremity of his map was deliberate in that it was considered to be the distance a traveler could journey in to London and back in one day. This edition of the map is not listed in Howgego which has the earliest edition as 1800.
27 x 27" presented folded in a slipcase.
